Mercedes Benz Fashion Week New York
Spring 2010 Collection
September 17, 2009
The recessionista attitude ruled Bryant Park this year—there was hardly any swag to be had. Mercedes Benz chose to display their mid-price E-class rather than their high end models. I attended seven major fashion shows within three days in NYC: ARISE, Erin Wasson, Lacoste, Georges Chakra, Christian Siriano, Vivienne Tam and Derek Lam. And the top three colors for Spring 2010 are... READ MORE » |

Exotic World Gifts
August 1, 2009
I am delighted to introduce my readers to the remarkable treasurers available on a new, innovative Internet Marketing site, Exotic World Gifts. When I discovered this website, I ordered a very stylish home décor piece from Kenya for my office. My son, Zachary loved it so much I had to order him one too. When I received the second one, I noticed on the shipping label that it came from my own town, Del Mar, California. I knew I had to find out more about this company. READ MORE » |

Jewely that is Sentimental and Stylish

"Sex and the City" and the Ultimate Bag
June 27, 2008
I saw the new "Sex and the City" movie with my own Mr. Big on the film’s opening day, and all I can say is…Shopping anyone? Fashion was a cornerstone of the television series and is definitely front-and-center in the movie as well. The show taught the masses about Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik shoes, as well as the Fendi baguette and Hermès Birkin bag. READ MORE » |

But people don’t just like Cher, they’re mad for her. I witnessed this phenomenon in Las Vegas at the Colosseum Theater in Caesar’s Palace last weekend. Cher’s show was, of course, sold out but Dennis and I bought our tickets months ago...

Not Your Mother’s Bill Blass
May 30, 2008
“It’s not your mother’s Bill Blass.” This was my first thought as I perused the Bill Blass New York line at a private trunk show last week. Cristina Schwartz, a sales representative for the iconic line, invited me to view the collection at her lovely Carmel Valley home. Fashion Focus Meets VIP's
May 16, 2008
Recently, thanks to a very lively auction at the St. James Academy annual gala, my family and I were guests on the set of “Ugly Betty.” My mission when visiting the set was to meet Ms. Williams, as well as Eduardo Castro, the costume designer.
My friend, Adriana Padilla, and I donated a VIP shopping package to the auction. It featured a limo for eight ladies to the Montage for breakfast in their Loft Restaurant, then to Bloomingdale’s at South Coast Plaza for shopping, lunch, fashion show and mini-spa services.

Pure Bliss for Hot Mama BFFs

Pure bliss is the feeling you can get from finding a store that has a fantastic selection of clothing and accessories that are perfect for you. Fashion and Personal New Year's Resolutions for 2008
January 1, 2008
I have always been fascinated with the idea of New Year's
resolutions. It is refreshing to know on January 1st, theoretically,
we can start out with a clean slate full of hope and opportunity.
According to Gary Ryan Blair, one of the top strategic thinkers
in the world and the inspiration behind New Year's Resolution Week,
the tradition of New Year's resolutions goes back to 153 BC. Janus,
a mythical king of early Rome, was placed at the head of the calendar
and with his two faces, Janus could look at past events and forward
to the future. Janus became the ancient symbol for resolutions and
many Romans looked for forgiveness and also exchanged gifts right
before the beginning of each year. Here are the inspiring New Year's
resolutions of some fashionable locals for 2008. READ MORE »

New Diamond Boutique Creates Extra Holiday Sparkle
December 21, 2007
December is definitely the time to shine and if you want to see
some serious sparkle, look no further than the new Diamond Boutique
at Flower Hill Promenade. I attended their grand opening last month
and couldn't wait to get back in the store when there wasn't a rockin'
party going on. Once I returned, I had an even greater appreciation
for this beautiful store and its incredible merchandise. Ali Digius,
the owner/store manager, said, “We wanted our store to take people's
breath away.” Believe me, it does. READ MORE »

California Style in the Big Apple
June 1, 2007
I am still flying high after a whirlwind trip to New York for power
shopping—I mean research. The most daunting part about visiting
New York is not the five-hour flight but packing for the trip. I
was a flight attendant for 10 years, so I should be a pro, but New
York is our national fashion capital and I didn't want my style
there to scream California girl. READ MORE »

Putting Style on the Waves
May 18, 2007
Prior to my first surf lesson one year ago, I never had a reason
to enter a surf shop. As a stylist, I'd never had a client who was
into surfing and my husband always took care of getting our son's
surf equipment. I incorrectly assumed surf shops only had wetsuits
and surfboards. Imagine my glee as I discovered they carry really
great bathing suits, clothing, accessories and so many other cool
things. READ MORE »
